Description

Gun Hill Signal Station gives visitors some idea of the well-organised vigilance of British colonisers during the 1800s. Set on an elevation, this was just one of six strategically placed signal stations which kept watch to prevent any invasion of the island by sea or rebellion inland, from the then slaves.

But it was also used to tell time and warn of any approaching weather systems, by signalling to the other stations.

Visitors to this venue can enjoy a gorgeous view of much of the island, as well as see remnants of military equipment.
